The Triathlete Performance Program

Triathlon S&C is uniquely complex — the program must support performance in three disciplines while managing the cumulative load of training for all three simultaneously. Generic gym programs don't account for this. Dave's does.

Swim

Shoulder strength and stability, pull power, and the upper body endurance to maintain stroke mechanics across an open water swim leg. Dry-land work that translates directly to the pool and open water.

Bike

Lower body power, position tolerance, and the core endurance to hold an aerodynamic position across a 90km or 180km bike leg — while preserving energy for the run.

Run

Running economy, leg strength, and the neuromuscular resilience to run at pace off a fatigued bike leg. The run is won or lost in S&C as much as in run training.

Periodisation Around Your Race Calendar

Your race calendar drives the S&C program structure — not a generic annual plan. Off-season capacity building, pre-season strength development, in-season maintenance, and race-week tapering are all built around your specific events. Sprint to Ironman, single race to full season.

Cumulative Load Management

The biggest risk in triathlon training is cumulative overload — the total of swim, bike, and run load exceeding the body's capacity to recover. We build S&C programs that complement your training volume, not compete with it. Recovery and adaptation are built into the structure.

Discipline-Specific Physical Qualities

Each discipline produces specific injury patterns and physical demands. We address all three in a single integrated program — not three separate programs bolted together. The shoulder work that prevents swimmer's shoulder also improves pull power. The hip work that prevents running injury also improves bike power.
